Garry Osborn is our Afternoon host from 1 to 5 PM on Ionia's I-1430!  You never know what Garry has up his sleeve...Garry brings you "Criminal Stories", keeps his "Eye on History", digs up dumb laws still on the books, and, of course, brings you more of the music you know and the information you need weekdays!  Garry also does voiceover work from his home studio and can produce voice work for your needs. Visit his website at www.spotdoc.com !   Garry has an extensive history in broadcasting. Click here to read more.   WION is fortunate to have such a great talent on our "bench."  He often works from what we sometimes call "Studi-"O" (for Osborn.) Garry loves to hear from you about his show, the music, and WION. VOICEGUY_STEVEthumb.jpg (29115 bytes)

"Steve the Voice Guy" is a real person...(this answers some questions about if he really exists on our staff) He lives in Michigan, and runs a company providing voices for many companies nationwide, and for many theaters as well. Sometimes you might even catch Jim Carlyle's voice being used at a local theater ahead of the movie.  Steve's family lives in Essexville, MI and he has been a good friend to Jim Carlyle since they worked together in Lansing at WITL back in the early 90's! Visit his company website at www.voice-work.com   You hear Steve at the top of each hour on WION, and between songs as the voice of our promos for local events.

Phil Cloud, voice of WION for many years joins Jim Carlyle most every Friday morning, for our "Friday with Phil!" (at the round-table!)  At WION, we spell Friday "P-H-R-I-D-A-Y!"    Phil is also heard periodically on the air as a host, and in many client commercials! Phil is an account representative part-time, too!   We welcome Phil back to regular on-air fun at Ionia's I-1430!  in 2008, Phil will become "Mayor of Hell" for a day, thanks to WION callers' donations to the cause!
Phil enjoys a good e-mail now and then....and especially if it's "material" for Friday. E-mail to:

"Leftlane" joined us in 2007 as another occasional voice at the "round table" on Friday mornings with Jim Carlyle and Phil Cloud.  We're never quite sure what Leftlane has "up his sleeve", but we like the addition of his personality to our broadcasting team.  Leftlane lends the "guy next door" kind of opinions and fun to our Fridays. Tune in Friday mornings, you may luck out and pick a day he visits! ---and, in "real life" (not radio) if you need steel siding or roofing, get in touch with him through his website

Big Mike...preparing to attend the Gallagher "in concert" program on December 19, 2009.
"Big Mike" joined the WION crew after retiring from Corrections in Ionia!  In fact, he once said to us,  in the "early days" of WION, that "You'd better have a job for me when I retire!"....and  we DID! (WOULD YOU SAY NO TO THIS GUY???) Listen to Mike on the Friday morning "round table" show with the rest of the gang, and...hear his "Say it then Play it" feature..." (most Fridays.) Mike is also the Producer of Garry Osborn's afternoon show, our Production Manager, handling commercial production for WION and WGLM, and, is our "Studio Thug." His business cards even say it!

Randy Edwards.....host of  Edwards Archives" " Join us Saturay mornings at 11AM and travel back in time.....with Randy! Randy's looking forward to your comments at:  "edwardsarchaives@i1430.com"  Randy's show is exclusively produced for WION, but we hope with as much fun as it is to listen to his show that it can soon expand to other radio stations across the U.S.!  It's one of the finest radio shows about music of the past you'll ever hear....and ENJOY!

Dan Ferguson brings years of client care experience to WION, and literally chose
WION as his sales vocation after hearing it!  He was hooked, and wanted to join
the team!  Dan joined us in late 2008, and is at your service!  Contact Dan Ferguson
at WION by calling 527-WION!

Here's "Steamer" our   Baltimore affiliate Relations Director..also known as "Trailboss" and some other nicknames.  He made his radio debut on the coffeecrew morning show with Jim Carlyle in 2006 after returning from an 18 mile hike, and supposedly has his own fan club!  (though we have not seen proof of this yet.) This picture is from the 2006 yearly hike  with Jim Carlyle......Captions, anyone?
